{"id":522,"date":"2010-04-07T12:35:52","date_gmt":"2010-04-07T12:35:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nostuff.org\/words\/?page_id=522"},"modified":"2010-04-07T12:35:52","modified_gmt":"2010-04-07T12:35:52","slug":"grening","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.nostuff.org\/words\/grening\/","title":{"rendered":"Greening"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The theme used here is a modified version of a theme called &#8216;Greening&#8217; which I&#8217;ve used for as long as I can remember.<\/p>\n<p>The footer of the theme originally said:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Powered by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.org\/\">WordPress<\/a> | Dressed with\u00a0<a title=\"Check for updates\" href=\"http:\/\/blog.mihalev.info\/wordpress-themes\/#Greening_1\">Greening v1.02<\/a> | Designed by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.mihalev.info\/\">Martin Mihalev<\/a><\/p>\n<p>However the links to the theme and the author do not work, nor does the domain that hosts them.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve modified the theme a little (not always making it better).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I&#8217;ve changed it to a serif font.<\/li>\n<li>I made the text area wider<\/li>\n<li>I made categories\/tags etc show a list of article titles, rather than just the complete text of each post, which can be difficult to browse through.<\/li>\n<li>added some Google Adsense adverts<\/li>\n<li>Then&#8230;<\/li>\n<li>made it html5-ish<\/li>\n<li>cut down on the left hand side clutter<\/li>\n<li>remove the left hand side\u00a0completely<\/li>\n<li>removed the adverts<\/li>\n<li>added some text to the footer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I created a zip of the theme in 2010, just after <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nostuff.org\/words\/2010\/html5-and-nostuff\/\">changing some of the mark up to be a little like html5<\/a>. You can <a href=\"http:\/\/words.nostuff.org\/wp-content\/2010\/08\/greening-nostuff.tar.gz\">download it<\/a> but it will need editing to remove my own text and Google Analytics code. This will include the left hand menu and ads.
