Chris Keene, Technical Development Manager at the University of Sussex Library has been working with technology and the web in academic libraries for over ten years. His interests are Resource Discovery, Open Access, open structured data and developing new integrated services. He oversees the Library’s online services and resources including the University’s repository and has been responsible for the introduction and development of various systems, from federated search to archival management software. He’s been involved in two recent JISC projects: CReDAUL implemented the VuFind Open Source discovery platform to provide a combined search interface across two University Libraries, and the SALDA project plans to convert Mass-Observation Archive records in to Linked Data. Chris is a member of the COPAC steering group and self-certified shambrarian.

Recent systems he has introduced include VuFind, Talis Aspire, Aquabrowser, Calm, Eprints and Shibboleth. He’s job increasingly involves exploring how library systems can be integrated both across the University and with the web at large.
