I find that the papers to not report on our law making process in a way that is helpful to me. They do often report on parliament but often a news item will be based around a small part of a bill, not the most important but the most news worthy.
I try to keep track of the bills going through parliment. Here are some websites to help with that:
- Common’s leader: Draft programme 2007/08
- Divisions at publicwhip.org
- Parliament bills 2007/08
- 10 Downing street: list of bills (links to PR/outlines of each)
- BBC News outlining Bills for this year
