As I’m currently in the process of retrofitting my site with RDFa, microformats, commontag, etc — it’s great to see a resource list of links here. I’m always struggling to find resources and it’s out there, but hard to find what’s good.

I depend on Twine’s “Semantic” – that’s how I came across this posting.

Chris, I hope you don’t mind me gatecrashing this discussion. I can’t add any clarity. The idea of ‘book as API’ and the use of XML is very much a talking point amongst publishers right now. As a writer of fiction, I’ve been trying to anticipate how to embed semantic web concepts into what I do, but I’m still having trouble grounding this. I’ll be very interested in whatever conclusions you reach and hope you continue to share them here. So, just a vote of confidence really!

Great write-up! Adding two other resources to your list: we are currently working on a tutorial on how to publish linked data with RDFa [1] which you may want to keep on the radar (please bear with us, still under construction and a tutorial we recently gave at WWW09 [2].

I’ve just watched the IdeasLab talk, which gave me that same tingle of excitement but also the same message: “SOMETHING is happening here but we don’t really know what it means”. I’m still waiting for that ‘a-ha!’ moment where I can understand how to use this. I’ll stay tuned, thanks again!

Thanks Jason. I think it’s a large area and quite a big concept for us all to get our heads around.

I’ll try and post anything I learn, but probably more to the point, link to those who explain things far better than me!
