Brighton Station Site re-development
Photos, links and information about the the Brighton Station site
re-development,
sometimes referred to as the new england quarter.
Introduction
For many years a piece of land next to Brighton Station lay unused, having previously been the steam locomotive works. Talk of developing the land had being going on for many years, and in July 2004 the work started in re-developing the land for a multiple of uses. Full details of the history, description of the site and future plans and developments can be found in the links below.

The photos were taken for a number of reasons.
- To capture the site before development started
- To capture views around the site that would no longer exist, i.e. at the start you could stand at one side and see various buildings at the other, once the building work is finished these views will no longer be possible.
- Thirdly, to generally capture in the photos this area of Brighton in 2004/05. What buildings existed, what they looked like, the state of the area, right down to the cars on the road at this time. A number of the photos are deliberatly taken 'wider' than they need to be, so to include the surrounding area as well as the main subject.

Finally
This website is here to show some photos before and during the works and to link to various sources on the web with information and opinions about them.
I've tried to make this as netutral as possible. All developments have good and bad points, and these pages are not about providing opinions.
